1.1. Inner Consulting Group. History and services provided.

The company was founded in 2000 by Marius Garlea. The location was Timisoara and the first professional goal was to cover neighbour countries as well as Romania. Timisoara is closer to 8 European capitals than to Bucharest. The first client was FOX KIDS and soon we entered into negotiations with other channels too. Due to the difference between our first aim and the policy of foreign programmers we decided to concentrate on Romania and to move to Bucharest. This happened in the summer of 2002.

In 2003 the sister company was born, Broadcasting Consulting Group. It was meant to provide the best combination cost-quality for subtitling, initially for our channels.

  We provide the following services:

·                acting as a point of contact with Cable Operators, National Council of  Audiovisual, The Ministry of Communications and Technology on a daily basis including handling enquiries from Cable Operators, providing advice and assistance.

·               identifying Cable Operators within the Territory who could potentially distribute the Channel with a view to maximizing the Fees.

·               acting in co-operation with the Channel and any local companies appointed by the Channel, and implementing a sales-oriented marketing strategy.

·               attending regular meetings (if relevant) to ensure co-ordination of activities and appropriate exchange of information.

·               actively arranging meetings and sales presentations with Cable Operators, providing relevant advice and assistance to Cable Operators, ongoing liaison and follow-up meetings and conversations with Cable Operators, and providing all necessary support to maximise the possibility to secure contracts with Cable Operators.

·               attending major cable conferences, and organising appropriate activities on behalf of and in conjunction with the Channel.

·               negotiating with Cable Operators according to the Channel's Rate card in order to achieve the most beneficial economic revenue stream as well as  the maximum number of subscribers.

·               providing the Channel's standard form of contracts, in connection with  the distribution of the Channel.

·               informing the Channel immediately in the event that any Cable Operator wishes to deviate from the terms of the standard Agreement.

·               supplying conditional access modules and viewing cards supplied by the Channel for the purpose of decrypting the Channel to Cable Operators.

·               using its best endeavours to collect subscriber numbers from Cable Operators.

·               assisting the Channel with the marketing of the Channel.

·               undertaking and managing, on behalf of the channel, the administration of distribution agreements relating to the carriage of the Channel.

·               collecting subscriber number reports from Cable Operators 

·               distributing invoices to Cable Operators.

·               assisting the Channel in administering and monitoring the payment of licence fees.

·               assisting the Channel in notifying Cable Operators of late payment and assisting with debt collection.

BCG was born in 2003 due to the mandatory localization on the Romanian market. The equipment used is from UK, manufactured by Screen Subtitling Systems (Poliscript) and by Spot Software, and the team is experienced and highly trained. It is capable to process materials from documentaries to motion pictures, from DVD's to interactive games. We plan to try Cavena systems too in the near future. We have six colleagues working full time and 15-20 external staff, usually working for  domestic broadcasters or for foreign channels, including HBO.
